These are the first in a series of four paintings I did summer 2011 following a trip through the Blue Ridge Mts in Georgia and North Carolina. It is oil on canvas using a brush and palette knife utilizing many layers of paint. The scraping technique created a crinkled paper effect over the subject that is exclusive to only these four of my “Horizons”. I like how this technique came out very much and intend to do again. – These are both 24″x30″.
